How to Get Into the Centre

Your IELTS Test Day Checklist must have this point before going to the exam centre. Check your exam centre and the timing of your exam to avoid any last-minute delay and trouble. It will be best if you check your schedule a week before so that you have all the information prior about your exam and exam centre. And get enough time to be prepared for it.

On your exam day, be prepared and reach your exam centre half an hour before the time. Because if you are late at your exam centre, it might be possible that they won’t allow you to appear for your exam.

Arriving at the Centre

  • All the three listening, reading and writing will take around 2 hours and 40 minutes. And there will be no break in between.
  • You can not bring the Food and wafers into the test room, so make sure that you have enough food so that you don't get hungry during this test time. You can bring a water bottle, but it should be transparent.

What Documents Should You Bring to the Test Centre?

On arrival at the centre, the IELTS staff will check your Identity proof ( it could be any government-issued photo ID) and the documents you received when you registered for the test. In addition to security measures, IELTS staff will take a photograph of you before the entrance to the test room. This photo will be your test report form. During the Test

All answers on your Writing test must be written in pen or pencil. You have permission to take notes on the question paper, but remember that anything you write on it will not be graded. Underline or highlight keywords in the tasks to ensure you understand what you have to do. Don't copy complete sentences from the question; you will not get points for it. Keep in mind the number of words required for each challenge. If you do not write at least 150 words for Task 1 and 250 words for Task 2, you will lose marks.

Speaking Test

Your Speaking test will involve a face-to-face chat with an examiner. The test is about realistic life situations.
